Area of Research Interests:

My area of research includes Stem cell Biology, Reproductive Biotechnology, Assisted Reproductive Technologies and Transgenic Animal production through sperm mediated gene transfer. Presently working on the projects aiming at the refinement of stallion semen cryoprotectants for better freezability of stallion semen and Equine Embryo Transfer.

  • Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry from College of Veterinary Sciences, Tirupati, Andhra Paradesh, India, 1998-2004.
  • Master of Veterinary Science in Animal Reproduction and Gynaecology and Obstetrics at College of Veterinary Sciences, Trupati, Andhra Paradesh, India, 2004-2006.on "studies on scrotal biometry and semen characteristics and their relationship to fertility in Ongole bulls".
  • PhD in Animal Reproduction and Biotechnology from University of Veterinary Medicine, Hannover, Germany and Friedrich-Loeffler-Institute (FLI), Federal Institute of Animal Health, Institute of  Farm Animal Genetics, Dept. Of Biotechnology, Mariensee, Germany. Feb 2012 to Feb 2015 on "Approaches for derivation of Induced Pluripotent Stem cells from Cattle".
  • Selected as Scientist from Jan 2008 and joined NRC on Equines as ARS Scientist on May 16th, 2008 and presently posted to Equine Production sub campus, Bikaner.

 Research Projects:

  1. Cryopreservation of equid semen using amides (as Principal Investigator since June 2010 and to July 2012).
  2. Cryopreservation of embryos for conservation of Marwari horses (as Co-PI).
  3. Development of Intra-vaginal device for estrus control in mares (as PI).

Research Achievements at NRCE that can be reflected on the web site:

A.   Successfully collected and preserved the Semen from the Marwari Stallions at our farm and at Farmers' door step.

B.   For the first time Zanskari semen has been successfully collected and cryopreserved.

C.   First time AI (Artificial Insemination) has been introduced with frozen semen in Zanskari Mares and made them pregnant.
